As the summer heat tapers off and the leaves begin to reflect the changing seasons, one of my favorite things to do is galavant through the Wichita mountains. I take my pochade box, a few paints, and get lost in the act of noticing, recording, then capturing in paint.
I love the way the oils capture the rugged terrain along with its accompanying prickly friends perched on top.
